Astaxanthin (Haematococcus)
Astaxanthin is a red carotenoid produced by certain algal species and is one of the most potent antioxidants found in nature. It is significantly more effective than vitamins C, E, and beta-carotene in neutralizing cellular free radicals. Widely recognized as a nutraceutical, astaxanthin is known for its role in boosting immune function.
In agriculture, astaxanthin is used as a feed supplement for salmon and hens to enhance immunity and improve the color of salmon flesh and egg yolks, making them more visually appealing.
We supply feed-grade, astaxanthin-rich algal biomass for the salmon industry. Compared to chemically synthesized astaxanthin, our algal-derived product is in the naturally occurring isomeric form and lipidized for enhanced absorption.
